If I'm one of many options, should I just save the heartache and move on?

I'm beginning to like this guy and although, he doesn't like me, he seems interested. I'm afraid that I'm just another option to save him from boredom and that perhaps, he's a charmer who gets all the ladies even though he's taken an interest in me. We've hung out and last time spent the night together cuddling, but after he seems to have taken a keen to many other girls. He isn't that most attractive guy but he's a sweetheart and I've asked his friend ( bad idea maybe?) and his friend said that he doesn't really know, that yes when he's single, but dating, he's not sure. Should I just move on and save the drama? yes, right?
