Are erfly tattoos unoriginal and boring?

I've always loved erflies, since they are so beautiful and symbolize changing for the better. I'm going to get 3-4 very tiny erflies flying upwards on the side of my lower back (not on the 'tramp stamp' location) but my friends say it's very cliche to have a erfly lower back tat and it's unoriginal and boring. But I can't think of anything I want more. Is it really such a common and boring idea ? And if it is, what is something small, girly and original that I can get instead ? Thanks in advance :)
