What do my symptoms mean?

Wondering if I had an ear infection or something. Two days ago I got a sore throat and both my ears ached. I had no fever, no runny nose, no headache. I slept all day the following day. My sore throat and ear pain had subsided a little. I felt something not in my nose but almost just above or behind it (hope that makes sense) and eventually was able to "pull down/up" (after clearing my throat several times) these gross mucus that were bloody and yellow in color. Again, no nasal issues. It is day 3. My ears no longer hurt and I was able to equalize the pressure in them. My throat is still a little sore and I'm coughing. I've had sinus infections and bronchitis in the past and this just doesn't seem like either of those...especially since there was no fever, head issues, etc. Can anyone help me out?
