If we are a democracy, then why are our businesses dictatorships?

I agree wholeheartedly. A business should be run by the people working for it, with a person at the top merely as a way of making sure there is fair and equal pay/distribution amongst the workers, and to make sure no abuse of said distribution takes place. That is true democracy at work!
